HelpViaVideo is back creating videos to help you learn about PC’s and software.  I’m going to begin creating several videos on the Content Management System called WordPress.  WordPress is not just a blogging software it is an entire Content Management System you can use to create any type of website you wish.

I have begun creating videos again because I bought my Dad a website for Christmas.  My parents are retired and do a lot of traveling and my Dad would like to keep an online journal of their adventures abroad.  I explained to him that although I know nothing about writing code I can easily create for him a website using a simple content management system.  I told him how easy it is to create and manage your own site these days and that even he can do it too.  I was however required to help him get started blogging with WordPress. As a result I made several videos for him.  Many of them were not done very well and I have decided to redo them for helpviavideo.com.  I think I will start from scratch starting with buying a website setting up the hosting, DNS pointing and finally installing WordPress.  From there I’ll make videos about your first login, what security measures to take and what plugins are a must to help you create a awesome website.

Below I going to provide my first HelpViaVideo I made for him.  There is no sound and it’s very basic which will help you understand why I have choosen to redo all these videos.
