THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A POST AND A PAGE IN WORDPRESS

The difference between a post and a page in WordPress is simple but still something new to be learned for the absolute beginner. I’m going to break it down as simple as possible. The purpose of a Blog is to write content articles in chronological order with the site always showing your latest POST first then the next most recent post directly under it.  The reader should be able to seemlessly roll down the page reading each previous post in order.  This is where the term blog roll comes from.  These again are called POSTS. A PAGE is different in that it isn’t in the roll, it is it’s own static PAGE set on it’s own in no relation to previous or forthcoming Pages.

How a WordPress site is set by default is to display the most recent Post on the main home page.  Where as Pages are different.  The title of Pages appear at the top in the menu field beside the home button.  Clicking on the Page title in the menu bar will then open the Page in it’s own window where you can then read the contents of the Page.  This will all make more sense when you watch the video.  If you watched the video first reading this information is making more sense.

When you first logged into your WordPress DashBoard I’m sure you were looking at those two wondering the difference.  You need not wonder anymore.
